PROJECTS AT KEMPTON PARK SAPS

Stranger Danger / Safety at Home

The puppet show was the idea of Inspector Debbie Ferreira. She started with toddlers and then went to primary schools in the Kempton Park area. The puppet show makes children aware of all the dangers in our world today. The children are shown not to open doors for strangers and to trust nobody they don't know. It also teaches them to trust Police officers and what a police id card looks like and to ask for identification before opening a door or get in a car with a Police officer.

Marking of Bicycles

This project was started by Inspector Debbie Ferreira and was implemented at schools. The bicycle is marked with a number on the frame and that is put into a database at the police station. If the police find a stolen or lost bicycle they will look up the details on the computer and contact the owner. Those people whose bicycles are net yet marked, can contact Insp(v) Botes to assist you. If your bicycle has been marked but some or any of the details have changed please contact us so that we can enter the correct details in the database.

Visits to Schools / Old Age Homes / Elderly Institutions

The schools, old age homes and elderly institutions are visited on a regular basis by police officers. The police officers give lectures on personal safety and motivational speeches to the members of the community. This is a ongoing process and if any person should feel the need to get involved they can contact Inspector Botes.

Visits to the police station

We invite schools to visit our police station. Children are shown what work is done at the police station and the different divisions of the police station, like the Cells, Id parade room, Court, Sap13 office and a police vehicle with siren and blue lights. Visit us and get to know your local police station and it's members. You can contact Insp (v) Botes on 570-9000
